Your 3-day Rwanda wildlife safari begins with a warm welcome in Kigali, Rwanda's vibrant capital city. After arriving at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet your safari guide who will give a briefing about your upcoming adventure. The journey starts with a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park, located in the eastern part of Rwanda near the Tanzanian border. As you make your way to the park, you will pass through picturesque rolling hills, rural villages, and lush countryside.

Upon arrival at Akagera, you will check into your lodge or campsite, where you'll have the opportunity to relax and refresh. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari on Lake Ihema, the largest lake in the park. This cruise offers a close-up view of wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species like African fish eagles, papyrus gonoleks, and shoebill storks. The boat ride provides a serene introduction to the park’s rich aquatic life and offers excellent photo opportunities as you witness the sunset over the lake.

Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for an exciting day of wildlife exploration.

Day 2 of your safari is dedicated to an exhilarating game drive in Akagera National Park. Akagera is Rwanda’s only savannah park and offers an impressive variety of wildlife, including the famous "Big Five"—lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos—which were reintroduced to the park after years of conservation efforts. Other species you may encounter include zebras, giraffes, antelopes, elands, impalas, and warthogs.

The game drive, which lasts several hours, will take you through different ecosystems within the park, from open plains to thick woodlands and savannah landscapes. The park's diverse habitats support a wide array of wildlife, and your expert guide will help track and identify different animals along the way, making the experience both informative and thrilling.

In the afternoon, you will have a chance to stop for a picnic lunch at one of the park’s scenic spots, with views overlooking the vast savannah and lakes. After lunch, continue your game drive, covering more areas of the park, before returning to the lodge in the evening.

On the final day of your safari, you'll set out early for a morning game drive to catch more wildlife as they are most active in the cooler hours of the day. This is a perfect opportunity to spot animals you may have missed during the previous day's adventure. You will explore different parts of the park and enjoy the tranquil morning atmosphere as the wilderness comes to life with bird calls and animal activity.

After the morning game drive, you will head back to your lodge for breakfast and a quick check-out. Your journey back to Kigali begins, with optional stops en route at the Imigongo Art Centre to learn about traditional Rwandan art or the Kigali Genocide Memorial to reflect on Rwanda's history and resilience.

Upon arriving in Kigali, you can either proceed to the airport for your departure or extend your stay in the city to explore more of Rwanda’s cultural and historical sites.
